TRRoutfitters is excited to offer artwork by famed fly fishing artist, Derek DeYoung. We love Derek DeYoung’s artwork because he captures our appreciation for wild trout and the beauty they exude. Derek’s work offers a unique and different way to appreciate fly fishing artwork. Quite frankly, it’s unlike anything we’ve ever seen before! We appreciate the bold, exciting colors that seem to leap off the canvas and ignite the same feeling we get when hooking a beautiful trout.

Derek DeYoung knew he wanted to be an artist at a very early age. He also knew from this early age that his passion was painting fish. What’s exciting about Derek’s work is that he prefers to paint from memory. He likes to take in the beauty and exceptionality of each trout and then stand in front of the easel and recreate that same joy.

Derek’s work has been featured on Simms and Abel products, numerous publications and blogs indluding Gray’s Sporting Journal, East Coast Angler and Madison River Brewing Company- to name a few.

Derek hopes that his artwork will, ‘Maybe be a catalyst for people to help protect environments where wild trout are found. They need to be protected’. We couldn’t agree more!
